BarcelonaThe veto of the PP on the candidacy of Teresa Ribera as European Commissioner will end in nothing. The move was complicated, but Alberto Núñez Feijóo’s people had decided to go all out against the Minister of the Environment, accusing her of being responsible for the mismanagement of the DANA crisis in the Valencian Country. The president of the European People’s Group, Manfred Weber, announced this Wednesday to the popular delegations of all the member states that they have reached an agreement with the Socialists so that the new European Commission chaired by Ursula von der Leyen will begin work, with Teresa Ribera as vice president. According to sources from the EFE Agency, all the delegations have agreed except for the Spanish one.

Regardless of the position of those of Feijóo, the European PP will support the candidacy of the Spanish minister. According to the sources, the only condition is that Ribera gives the necessary explanations in the appearance he is making this Wednesday at the Congress of Deputies. In the Spanish lower house, PP deputy Ester Muñoz has insisted that her party will never support Ribera if he does not commit to resign if he ends up being imputed for his management of the DANA crisis.
