The English Premier League club Tottenham has decided to file an appeal against the decision of the English Football Association (FA), which punished the Tottenham player with a seven-game suspension. Rodrigo Bentancur.

In addition to seven games, the Uruguayan soccer player must also pay 100 thousand English pounds, all because of racist statements. In June of this year, Bentancur offensively touched his teammate, the South Korean player Heung-Min Son, in an interview for a Uruguayan television station.
“Son’s jersey? It could also be his cousin’s jersey, because they all look the same”27-year-old Bentancur interjected, but he quickly apologized for such words, stressing that everything turned out to be a very bad joke.
The FA took those words seriously and acted in the same way when punishing. The punishment applies to matches in England, while Bentancur will be able to play in the Europa League, where Tottenham plays.
Currently, Tottenham is in 10th place in the English Premier League, or in seventh place in the Europa League. Bentancur will not be able to play in the Premier League and English Cup competitions until the end of this calendar year.
