Legendary NFL quarterback John Elway recently revealed his diagnosis of Dupuytren’s contracture, which he has been dealing with for several years.
Dupuytren construction (DC) is a condition in which one or more fingers are bent toward the palm. The affected finger cannot be fully straightened. Mayo Clinic.
Elway said he was diagnosed with the disease in his 50s, meaning it likely occurred while he was the Broncos’ general manager.
The former Super Bowl-winning quarterback feels good about his condition, which is still receiving treatment after leaving the Broncos front office last year.
‘After being diagnosed, I wanted to find out more about DC. Even though 5% of the population has this condition, many people are unaware of it,’ Elway said. Big lead.
‘I had no idea what it was. I put it off for a while until I asked my trainer who directed me to a hand specialist. But one of the things we’re encouraging is that the earlier you get treatment, the much better the outcome.’

Elway is still receiving DC treatment, which he dealt with when he was the Broncos’ general manager.

The Hall of Famer remained in Denver’s front office until last April, when he was no longer under contract.
