Football: an appeal filed with the CNOSF to cancel the election to the Paris-Ile-de-France League

The election for the presidency of the Paris-Île-de-France League was played out in a pinch. On October 5, the list “The team, the club at the center of the game” led by outgoing president Jamel Sandjak won with a score of 50.51% ahead of that led by its former secretary general Ahmed Bouajaj “The clubs, the League: a collective”. A difference of 146 votes, 7,195 votes against 7,049.

The campaign had already been lively, even stormy. But behind the scenes, tensions remain high. Especially since this election will now be extended. The 4th and final mandate of Jamel Sandjak, 65, is in fact threatened. According to our information, Ahmed Bouajaj’s list, which would have noted several irregularities during the elective AGM, has in fact filed an appeal before the CNOSF (French National Olympic Sports Committee) to annul the result of this election. It will be examined on Wednesday, December 4 at 2 p.m.

The opinion of the CNOSF will only be advisory. If it is in favor of the list “The clubs, the League: a collective”, it will then have to be examined by the steering committee of the Paris League. Opponents will also have the possibility of subsequently appealing to the administrative court.
