Promoted for the first time in its history to Regional 3, the Linas Basket Academy would like to move up a division at the end of the season.
Created in 2017, the Linas Basket Academy is climbing the ranks at lightning speed. Seven years after its emergence, the Linois club is already establishing itself at the regional level. “ We are very happy with what we are able to do », smiles Jonathan Lafont, one of the founders of the club and coach of the winning team. But this season, the Essonne team seems to be marking time with a rather timid start to the year (2v, 4d). “ So far, we have met teams much more advanced than us in terms of play and experience. We are discovering the level and we have changed more than half of the team compared to last year. It takes time to adaptsays the Essonne coach whose team stopped a series of three defeats last Sunday by largely beating Poissy (82-43), the bottom of the championship. In this match, I feel that the team has reached a milestone. The collective is set up. This is what we missed at the start of the season. »
Chain victories
This Saturday (8:30 p.m.), the Linois (8th) will travel to the Moissy-Cramayel floor (2nd) with the ambition of securing a second success in a row. Which would be a first this season for the Linas Basket Academy. “ They’re a good team, so we’ll have to be wary of them. We will see if the progress made against Poissy will materialize. You need to fine-tune the settingssays Jonathan Lafont, who nevertheless remains ambitious. It’s true that when we see our start to the season, we can say to ourselves that maintaining would already be great, but we want more than that. This season, the championship is very homogeneous. Everyone can beat everyone. We will play to finish at the top of the table and why not move up to Regional 2 at the end of the year. »
