ISTANBUL – National Men’s Basketball Team will host Hungary tomorrow in the 3rd match in Group B of the 2025 European Championship (EuroBasket 2025) Qualifiers.
The match, which will be played at the Basketball Development Center, will start at 20.30. The match will be broadcast on TRT Spor Yıldız.
The national team, which was in second place in Group B after the leader Italy, lost 87-80 away to Italy in its first match. In the second match, the national team managed to beat their guest Iceland 76-75. The crescent-star team, which has one win and one loss each, wants to guarantee getting out of the group by winning the matches against Hungary, which they will play tomorrow and on Monday, November 25th.
The guest team, Hungary, is in last place in the group, losing 70-65 away to Iceland and 83-62 at home to Italy.
Türkiye and Hungary have previously faced each other in 15 competitions, 9 of which were official.
The National Team, which played against Hungary for the first time in 1955, lost the match 66-55.
While the nationals won 10 of the 15 matches, they were defeated by their opponents in 5 of them.
The Crescent and Stars team had its biggest victory against its rival in 1973 with a score of 80-62.
On the other hand, the National Basketball Team and Hungary will face each other after 25 years.
The national team last played against Hungary in a friendly match on June 12, 1999, and won the match with a score of 78-72.
