The 15th youth tournament of the Judo and Kenjitsu department of SV Ostermünchen took place in Ostermünchen. Participants from eight clubs in the region faced the challenges on the mat.
Easter Munich – The 15th youth tournament of the Judo & Kenjitsu department of SV Ostermünchen (SVO) recently took place. At this event, young judoka from eight clubs in the region competed against each other. The participants came from the clubs TuS Bad Aibling, Naturfreunde Aßling, TuS Großkarolinenfeld, TSV Isen, ESV München Ost, ASV Rott, TSV 1860 Mühldorf and the local SVO, among others. The competitions were divided into groups of different weight classes and experience.
Hans Trommler, as the main referee, and his experienced team ensured everything went smoothly. He particularly emphasized the fair treatment of the young athletes towards each other.
Among the invited guests were District Administrator Otto Lederer, who acted as patron for the tournament, Mayor Georg Weigl and the chairmen of SV Ostermünchen, Christian Mayer and Peter Niedermeier. The district chairman of the Bavarian Judo Association (BJV) Upper Bavaria, Denis Weisser, also insisted on personally supporting the young talents.
Gain valuable competition experience
The main focus of the youth tournament was on the courage of the young judoka to venture onto the mat for the first time and gain valuable competition experience. The SVO coaching team, led by Teo Pop (IJF/International Judo Federation), as well as the youth coaches Michaela Kirner, Marie Binder and Elias Kirner and youth leader Elisabeth Gambos, supported the children with a lot of empathy. In addition to the exciting competitions, the physical well-being of the participants and spectators was also well taken care of. The youth of the department also got involved and made a significant contribution to the success of the day.
For Denis Weisser it was a great tournament that was very well organized. “So many young judoka here, that’s wonderful,” stated the district chairman. Patron Otto Lederer, whom Radu Focsaneanu thanked for his 15th patronage, also praised the tournament. “It’s simply great what is being done here on a voluntary basis,” he emphasized and saw the young people’s commitment as a valuable counterbalance to the excessive digitalization. The 15th youth tournament reflected the strength of the regional judo community. That’s why at the end the department explicitly thanked all participants, helpers and supporters who made this tournament possible.
Next year, 2025, the “Judo & Kenjitsu” department will celebrate its 30th anniversary – a special event that will be crowned with many exciting activities. Numerous highlights are planned, including possibly another tournament that will round off the anniversary celebrations.
