FilGoal | News | Al-Ahly women’s coach: Women’s football in the whole world… and I could not believe what I saw from the fans

Dimitri Lipov, coach of the Al-Ahly women’s football team, praised the club’s fans.

Leboeuf revealed that he did not believe Shadi Mohamed’s talk about Al-Ahly fans until he saw it himself in front of Al-Ain in the Intercontinental Cup.

Dmitry Lipov, coach of the Al-Ahly women’s football team, said on the club’s channel: “I chose to coach women because I had the opportunity and dealt with the biggest clubs.”

He continued, “I received a call from Al-Ahly while I was in Morocco, and when a team the size of Al-Ahly contacts you, you cannot refuse. I knew Al-Ahly before I came, thanks to its wins in general, and it is like Real Madrid in Europe.”

He continued, “I held a session with Mahmoud Al-Khatib and I was lucky because he is a great symbol. Al-Ahly is a large institution that is managed by a group of stars, and this is important to me. The difference between Al-Ahly and other clubs is that it is managed by legends who have achieved everything in football, but abroad perhaps.” Only one name is relied upon among the officials.”

Leboeuf revealed, “I was keen to attend Al-Ahly’s match against Al-Ain at Cairo Stadium. It was exceptional for me. I had to see the fans’ encouragement with my own eyes to believe what I was seeing in the videos.”

He stressed, “I saw an unnatural love from the fans for Al-Ahly, which was like magic. I did not believe Shadi Mohamed at first when he spoke about the fans until I saw it with my own eyes at Cairo Stadium.”

He continued, “I attended many important matches in a number of large stadiums in Europe, but the experience of watching Al-Ahly fans in Cairo Stadium is unbelievable.”

As for the saying that women’s place is in the kitchen, he replied, “If she plays football, she will be good in the kitchen as well. Women’s football exists in the whole world, not just Europe, but in Saudi Arabia, China, America, and everywhere.”

He added, “Watch our matches in the league and tell me, is this bad football? On the contrary, we are performing at good levels. This is the result of work in only 4 months, and the next will be better.”

Leboeuf concluded his statements, “My relationship with Shadi Mohamed is wonderful. We work hand in hand and I am happy to deal with him because he is always there. Now we have a common view of Al-Ahly’s women’s football teams and we have succeeded in building a solid and strong system and we are on the right path.”

Leboeuf began his coaching mission in 2009 when he worked as an assistant at Lyon.

He previously worked with the Russian national team and the Napoli women’s club before taking over the leadership of the Moroccan women’s national teams.

He had taken over the leadership of Samia Adam, the Egyptian national team player, when she became a professional at the Napoli Women’s Club.
