On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, the eagerly awaited final game between BC Jenbach and SV Nußdorf-Debant took place in the 2024 Tyrolean team championship.
It was already clear before the game that with Emanuel Schöpf out due to illness, a win for the home team from Nußdorf-Debant would be difficult to achieve. Nevertheless, everyone was motivated to do their best and perhaps create a surprise.
Since the Jenbachers also had to do without an important supporter in Christina Dander, there was tension again.
In the women’s doubles, Irina Olsacher and Sophie Unterguggenberger secured an easy 2-set victory, at the same time Edi Blaßnig and Tobias Zeiner had to admit defeat to the strong Jenbach men’s doubles.
In the first men’s singles there was an open exchange of blows between Hans-Peter and Eyhab, which the latter won. The women’s singles was a clear affair for Irina, which meant the score was 2-2 at one point. Tobias fought against Martin Pesserer in the 3rd men’s singles and was able to keep up well for long stretches, but ultimately had to admit defeat in two sets. Edi played great in the second men’s singles that day and won the first set against Andi Pesserer, but then it wasn’t enough to win.
The title was therefore fixed for BC Jenbach and the mixed doubles event was no longer held.
We warmly congratulate BC Jenbach on winning the title and are already looking forward to revenge next season!
