Police officers from the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) arrested a 27-year-old man Wednesday afternoon in connection with an attempted murder that occurred last Saturday.
According to the police, this arrest occurs as part of the conflict raging between several criminal groups in the region.
The police officers of SPVQ were called on the evening of November 16 for shots fired in the district of La Cité-Limoilou. Once there, there was no trace of the shooter or the person targeted by the shots.
After investigation, the officers found the victim, a 25-year-old man, who was not hit by the projectiles.
Arrest and appearance
Wednesday afternoon, police arrested the suspect and searched his home in Limoilou. This allowed them to seize nearly 25 grams of crystal meth200 methamphetamine pills, a baseball bat, a knife and nearly $700 in Canadian currency.
The suspect is already known to the police. He is suspected of having committed an armed attack on Wednesday. Detained by the police, he must appear Thursday at the Quebec courthouse. He will face other charges, including carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose and discharging a firearm.
During the search of the accused, two other people were on the premises, including a man subject to an arrest warrant and a woman suspected of breach of commitment. They are also due to appear on Thursday.
