NewTuscia – VITERBO – On the occasion of National Tree Day, the Club and the council group of Fratelli d’Italia Viterbo organized the planting of a lime tree in via Vicenza. “A tradition that has been renewed for several years now, because we are convinced that the future of the city is a green future”, commented the FdI group leader at Palazzo dei Priori Laura Allegrini. The Honorable Mauro Rotelli, president of the Environment, Territory and Public Works Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, took part in the initiative. “November 21st represents a serious opportunity for reflection on the indispensable role of trees for the protection of our ecosystem and to face today’s environmental challenges”, commented the deputy from Viterbo, who last week participated in the Cop29 in Baku, Azerbaijan , the United Nations conference on climate change.
“The tree-lined areas act as a natural filter, reducing air pollutants and improving air quality: for this reason, Via Vicenza, which is particularly busy, seemed like the right place for planting, which also restores decorum to the area,” added Rotelli. . “It is no coincidence that, today, work begins on the General States of the Environment, in which I will take part: this date is a collective call for greater environmental responsibility, because sustainability is a team game, in which everyone is called to make their contribution”, concluded Rotelli. “Thanks to the Club and the FdI Group because, behind every initiative, there is commitment and planning: today’s is a symbolic but concrete gesture”, stated Daniele Sabatini, FdI group leader in the Lazio Region. “The Region is very attentive to environmental issues: through a tender in which public bodies and sports associations can participate, it allocates 4 million a year for urban and peri-urban forestation,” explained Sabatini. “Education can be achieved by example: Fratelli d’Italia has been carrying on this tradition for years, because it cares about the environment and the city. We believe it is a good practice to follow and cultivate over time”, declared the coordinator of the Circolo Fd, Luigi Maria Buzzi, in conclusion.
