Rincón de la Victoria will host the Andalusian Women’s Badminton Club Championship for the second consecutive year, which will be held on November 30 at the ‘Rubén Ruzafa’ Municipal Covered Pavilion in Torre de Benagalbón.
The Sports Department of the Rincón de la Victoria City Council, the Jorge Guillén Sports Club of Rincón de la Victoria, and the Andalusian Badminton Federation, will bring together about 40 players with 80 matches that will be played from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.: 00 hours.
The councilor of the Area, Antonio José Martín (PP), has highlighted the presence of the corner players, through the Jorge Guillén CD, “with a dozen players from the age of 9 who will compete in all categories under 11, 13, 15, 17, 19 absolute and senior.”
The mayor of Rincón de la Victoria, Francisco Salado (PP), has highlighted “the opportunity of hosting in our municipality the only exclusively women’s championship held in Spain. Our commitment to sport is maximum, valuing the important promotional and economic impact it has for the city,” he indicates.
The president of CD Jorge Guillén, Susana Muñoz, has highlighted “the importance of supporting women’s sports, and high-level events like this championship, which also counts for the national ranking.”
The event, with free admission, will begin at 10:00 a.m. and is scheduled to end at 7:00 p.m. There will be medals for the first two finishers in each modality and category.
