Saudi Gulf reaches the final of the Asian Handball Club Championship

The Saudi Gulf Club qualified for the final of the Asian Handball Champions League Club Championship, beating Al-Duhail of Qatar 23-21 on Thursday in the semi-finals.

Al-Duhail led in the first half with a goal difference of 14-13, before the balance tipped in favor of Al-Khaleej in the second half, benefiting from the brilliance of its goalkeeper, Mohamed Abdel Hussein.

It is noteworthy that Al-Khaleej topped the second group with 4 consecutive victories, at the expense of Miss Kerman of Iran (31-22), Kazma of Kuwait (36-24), Al-Duhail (27-25) and Ahli Sadab of Oman (40-19), before defeating Al-Shabab of Bahrain in the Quarter-finals (35-20).

With this, Al-Khaleej continued the journey of defending its title, which it won for the first time in the last edition in 2023, where it will face in the final the Emirati club Al-Sharjah, which defeated Kuwaiti club Kazma 28-27.

The current editions of the tournament are being held in Qatar for the fifth time after 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016.

Al-Sadd of Qatar is considered the most crowned champion with 5 titles, followed by its compatriot Al-Duhail (3), then Al-Jaish of Qatar, Kazma and Al-Qadisiyah from Kuwait, and Al-Najma of Bahrain (2).
