Elite youth badminton circuit: Argenton rhymes with training

This is an exceptional vintage! Succeeding in fielding six players among the 96 best French players is indeed unheard of. The very small department of Indre and the clubs of Argenton (5 qualified) and Châteauroux (1) can be proud of this performance.

The icing on the cake is that this second stage of the elite youth circuit (CEJ), which brings together the French Top 16 among juniors and juniors, takes place this weekend in the two Argentonian gymnasiums. “It is also for this reason, to see our young people at work, that we appliedexplains Anthony Devant, coach and employee of US Argenton badminton. We hesitated because we already have two big organizations planned with the regional youth championships in February and the Poumbad in May 2025, but we said to ourselves that it was a unique opportunity. »

Argenton will thus be represented by two youngest girls (Mila Muller and Jasmine Chassin) as well as two youngest daughters Raphaëlle Lallemand and Lola Robin Navarre). “The presence of these four girls is linked to the creation, by the Indre committee, of AcadeMiss, underlines Anthony Devant. We found that, unlike what exists in the league for boys, there were not many things possible for girls. We created this structure so that they could train more, to support them towards a higher level. Seeing that there are four of them qualified this weekend is a great reward. »

Singles and doubles

The boys are not left out. The very young Robin Demigné (Argenton) will thus discover his first CEJ, while the Castelroussin Erwan Berthier, will also be the most ambitious of the six Indriens, he who finished in 5e place of the first stage of this elite circuit in Mulhouse.

The challenge for the Berrichons will be to finish in the first twelve in singles and thus avoid the last four places which take you down to the regional level. All will also be doubles.

At the end of the six stages of this elite circuit, we will know the sixteen qualified for the French championships. As for the future of these badists, several of them will join hopeful poles (like Argenton’s cadet, Maxence Liraud) and continue their journey within the French elite.
