Boris Becker is in deep mourning for his mother Elvira. The tennis star’s mother was found dead in her apartment.

Leimen – The mother of tennis icon Boris Becker, Elvira Becker, has died at the age of 89. She was found lifeless in her apartment in Leimen, Baden-Württemberg, like the Bild reported. Boris Becker, who is currently in Milan, was immediately informed of the tragic incident and is said to be on his way home.

Health problems limited Boris Becker’s mother

Boris Becker’s lawyer, Oliver Moser, confirmed the sad loss: “I can confirm the death of Elvira Becker. Boris Becker is in deep mourning.” Boris Becker, the former tennis champion and current television expert, posted a picture of his mother on Instagram in May and wrote: “The one and only… Elvira! Happy Mothers’s Day!”.

Elvira Becker was unable to attend her son Boris’s wedding in September due to her health problems. Boris Becker married his wife Lilian in Italy. Elvira Becker told the newspaper at the time Bildwhy she couldn’t come to the wedding: “I can’t cope with my health, my legs can’t cope anymore. It’s a long journey.” So she missed this important day in her son’s life.

Boris Becker’s father died 25 years ago

The relationship between Boris Becker and his mother Elvira was very close. She stood by him both during his first Wimbledon victory in 1985 and during his seven-month prison sentence in 2022. Boris Becker went to prison in England for offenses related to his bankruptcy.

During this difficult time, Elvira Becker supported her son and kept in touch with him by telephone. Boris Becker’s father, Karl-Heinz Becker, died of cancer in 1999. Elvira Becker has now died at the age of 89. (jsk)
