With three gold medals, one silver and one bronze, the Guárico state delegation dominated the medal table in the badminton discipline of the Oriente 2024 National Games, after three days of meetings in the covered gymnasium of the Los Guaritos campus of the UDO Monagas, where athletes from Cojedes and Trujillo also managed to get on the medalist podium.
Luis Martínez from Guarique received the title in the men’s singles category and, together with Rolando Medina, in doubles, while his teammates Denisse Arveláez and Bárbara Sáez were crowned in the women’s couples category. Fabiola Duarte, for her part, took the silver and Arveláez the bronze in the women’s individual.
Cojedes took the women’s gold with Bárbara Lamas, who also won one of the two bronze medals in pairs with Alexmary Zerlin, sharing third place with her teammates Isabella Silva and Vicluismar Escolche. In men, Fabricio Rodríguez and Carlos Giménez won individual silver and bronze, respectively, and bronze in men’s doubles.
Trujillo also reached the podium with two silver medals and one bronze in pairs, with Karen Campos and Valeria Gonzalez finishing second in women’s and Enmanuel Suárez and Andrés Lucena in men’s, while Carlos Abrey and Jesús Sáez placed third. . In addition, they added other individual bronze medals with Suárez and Campos.
