Olomouc football players will go from match to match in the coming days. Two postponed matches inflated the team’s schedule at the turn of November and December, Hanáky has five matches to play in two weeks. The first will be a duel against Slovan Liberec in the 16th round of the Chance League. Sigma has already played with him, drawing 1:1 with Nisa in July. “It’s paradoxical, because we haven’t played some opponents even once, but we’re going to rematch with Liberec. We have observations from the first duel between each other and from the last matches. We will see how they play against us because they are also going through some change,” said Sigma coach Tomáš Janotka before the match.
Due to the postponed match against Slovácko and the national team break, we had a relatively long break without matches. How did you use it?
„The week before Slovácko was standard. After the postponed match, we had a representative break. For that reason, we are three weeks without a championship game. But now we will enjoy the matches enough. We were in the mode of the training process, at the end of last week we played a model match so that we would not miss playing minutes. We played two halves. Now we are getting ready for the first of the matches that await us in large numbers in a short time.“
The first opponent is Liberec. We’ve already played him, so we’re in for a rematch. What can we learn from the match that was played under Ještěd?
„It’s paradoxical, because we haven’t played some opponents even once, but we’re going to rematch with Liberec. We have observations from the first duel between each other and from the last matches. We will see how they play against us because they are also going through some change. Now they rely on a solid defense, they have left the last three matches without conceding a goal. Opponents do not create many scoring opportunities against Liberec. Since the match with Jablonec, from which they received five goals, a clear progress in the functioning of the defense can be seen. We have to be of extremely high quality to be able to ventilate and open up the Liberec defense. I believe that it is within our power to break Slovan’s streak with clean sheets. As for the offensive, they have technically and quickly equipped players. The team is made up of representatives of all different categories and nationalities.“
We have two English weeks in a row ahead of us. Will it somehow be reflected in the lineup? Thinking about rotations?
„I believe that after not having championship games, we will be healthy for the game. During the past three weeks, we dealt with some aches and pains, but now things have settled down. It is up to us to select the strongest for the first match and be lucky in choosing the starting eleven. 5 matches await us in 15 days. Logically, there will be some rotation in the lineup.“
We have a joint event with the hockey players, when both clubs play against Liberec on Sunday. Do you believe that fans will come to support us, who will go to hockey first?
„I like this kind of action. It’s great that we can find common ground and work together with another sport. If it is possible to unite the fans and lure them to such a double match, then it will be great. We will be happy for any support from all the people who come straight to football, or from hockey to football.“
