Double success – Aiblinger Judo Youth number one in Upper Bavaria

Bad Aibling in first place in the youth league – boys and girls win

This year’s final of the Upper Bavaria district’s male and female judo youth league took place at TSV Palling.

The six qualified male teams and four girls’ teams competed on the three competition areas to fight for the title of Upper Bavarian Youth League champions.

The male fighting group, consisting of the clubs Bad Aibling, Grafing and Achental, entered the tournament as runners-up from the preliminary round.

The girls’ team, the “Powergirls” from Bad Aibling, started the race as table leaders and last year’s winners as the clear favorite.

The girls’ opening encounter was probably the toughest opponent on the tatami (mat): it was against the JV Ammerland-Münsing fighting group, who had taken second place in the table in the preliminary round.

Ammerland was able to prevail against the Powergirls narrowly but deservedly with a 7:5.

In order to still have a chance of winning the title, the following matches had to be won.

After the shock at the start had been digested, it was time to concentrate on the next encounter.

Shaken up and determined to win the game, it was now against the “Judoteam Ingolstadt”.

Here the girls showed what they were made of and didn’t let anything go wrong, in the end the result was 10:3 for Bad Aibling.

In the last encounter against the Teisendorf – Holzkirchen – Sachsenkam fighting group, things got exciting again.

The team had previously won against Ammerland and was determined to continue its winning streak against the Aiblinger Powergirls, something the Kurstadters naturally had something against.

The start of the Aiblinger women was a failure – so after the first four fights it was quickly 4-0 for the opposing women. But then the Powergirls began to catch up.

The Aiblinger girls only had to give up one point in the following fights and secured victory with a 7:5 and thus the championship.

The goal of defending the title was successfully completed. All fighters were happy about the trophy, a certificate and the title “Youth League Champion 2024”.

The boys also impressed across the board and emerged as winners of their competition, so that both teams ended up in first place.

Aibling’s judo boss Denis Weisser: “A sensational result and proof of the strong youth work we have. I would like to thank all the trainers and the youth leaders. Bravo!”
