Big surprise in the match that opens Week 12 of the NFL Regular Season with the Pittsburgh Steelers who, after beating the Baltimore Ravens, fall at the home of the Cleveland Browns in crisis. The ones smiling are Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry (in the photo) and the Ravens who thus have the possibility of closing in on the standings in a very fierce AFC North in the race for the NFL Playoffs. The first half is dominated by the defenses, especially the Browns’ defensive line which puts enormous pressure on Russell Wilson and does not allow rushing yards to Najee Harris. Nick Chubb’s touchdown is the only score in the first half, which ends with the score being 10-3 in favor of Cleveland thanks also to a field goal for each team. In the first half, however, what will become the great protagonist of the second half appears, namely the snow.
NFL, spectacular second half under the snow
We start again at the beginning of the third quarter and the intensity of the snow increases slightly, even if the game does not yet seem to be affected. From the middle of the third quarter, however, the snowfall becomes a blizzard and the field immediately transforms into a completely snow-covered ski slope. Despite the very difficult weather conditions, Cleveland and Pittsburgh find fluidity in their attack. The Browns thanks to Winston’s rushing touchdown fly to 18-6, Pittsburgh closes the gap to 13-18 thanks to Jaylen Warren with eight minutes left. Winston’s fumble allows the Steelers to take the lead and Wilson throws the only TD pass of the night to Calvin Austin to make it 19-18 Pittsburgh with six minutes left. Four minutes from the end, the interception thrown by Winston into the hands of Donte Jackson seems to close the game, but Cleveland’s defense manages to hold on and with two minutes to go the Browns’ attack returns to the field for the last possession. After closing a very heavy fourth down, Cleveland finds the winning touchdown with 57 seconds left with Nick Chubb for the final 24-19. Pittsburgh thus loses its third game of the season and complicates its path to the NFL Playoffs, while the Browns find their second divisional victory after also surprising the Ravens and rise to three wins and eight defeats.
