The Tunisian Handball Federation announced that investigations by the Ministry of Sports proved that at least 3 players from the Mostaqbal Sportive Ben Arous handball team participated in the team’s match against the Tunisian Stadium last week in the basketball tournament.
The university explained in a statement today, Friday, November 22, 2024, that the players have licenses from the handball technical administration and are qualified to participate in the university’s official handball competitions, but they participated in the basketball match that ended with a strange result, as the Tunisian stadium won 116 goals to zero.
The university considered that the players involved in the violation had committed a serious mistake.
The Handball University decided to suspend the activity of the senior handball team in the Ben Arous Sports Federation, and refer the file to the Federal Disciplinary Committee to take the appropriate decision.
The result of the match sparked controversy last week.
