The Alpine driver did not hide his satisfaction after his good performance but remains cautious about the race scheduled for Sunday.
Pierre Gasly will start this Sunday at 7:00 a.m. with third place on the starting grid for the Las Vegas Grand Prix. An unexpected performance for the Frenchman, extremely satisfied at the Canal+ microphone. “It’s truly incredible. I am extremely happy. It was a really special ride. It’s true that on this circuit we are close to the walls and at the limit all the time. As I crossed the line I knew it really was a near perfect lap. But from there to putting us in the top 3, it was unexpected… We knew that we were going to fight for Q3 but from there to putting max Verstappen behind and the McLarens it’s certain that we won’t. had not predicted”explained the Norman who noted progress at the end of the championship for his team.
Despite everything, the Habs expect to suffer in the race on Sunday against the best cars in the field: “In recent weeks following Brazil, there are clearly positives. It’s good for everyone’s morale but already last year we were very fast in qualifying here and in the race we know that it’s more complicated with the tires. We will have to work hard this evening to fight with the cars around us.”

Twelfth in the championship, Pierre Gasly will do everything he can to achieve a big success and try, why not, to secure the 2nd podium of his season and the 6th of his career: “We don’t have much to play for in the championship so if there is an opportunity to seize this weekend we will try to do it. I’m going on the right side of the track. It’s a first corner which is very complicated because there is very little grip, especially at the start. We will have to be attentive and seize opportunities. There is Charles (Leclerc), Max (Verstappen) and Lando (Norris) behind. We know that in race pace they are much faster.”
