The III Amateur Tennis League, which brings together players of different levels, is progressing successfully in Gijón. The first phase is currently being held, in which the participants fight to position themselves in the highest possible group. With a total of 12 groups of 4 playerseach one disputes 3 games in 40 daysa period that was extended at the request of the participants.
The competition system is dynamic and encourages the progression of each player: the first of each group promotes two groupshe second up onehe third descends one and the fourth down two. This format, which will be repeated in four group stagesensures that each player finds their ideal level.
Regarding sports performance, several actions stand out:
- In it group 1the defending champion Ossian Halley maintains its dominance, winning all three games in this first phase.
- In it group 3, Roberto Alvarez secures promotion with a full victory.
- From the group 5, Garbis Kerpitchain Promoted to group 3 after an impeccable performance.
- In it group 9, Adrian Agreement surprises with a remarkable game and rhythm, pointing out ways to continue climbing positions.
- In it group 12composed only of women, Laura Cuadrado He leads with authority, clearly surpassing his rivals.
- In it group 11, Asier Bazaga impresses with a level of play typical of the higher groups.
After the group stages, players will be relocated to three divisions for the final playoffs:
- First Division (groups 1 to 4).
- Second Division (groups 5 to 8).
- Third Division (groups 9 to 12).
There will be trophies for the first place finishers in each division, as well as a special women’s final between the two best players, with prize included.
