Mexico City.- The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, assured that the budget of the Government of Mexico for 2025 is complete and balanced thanks to the fact that it contemplates investment in health, education, water, culture, highways and roads, as well as the consolidation of passenger and freight trains.

“There is a budget for investment in health, in education, it is a very complete and balanced budget,” he pointed out during the presentation of the 2025 Economic Package at the morning conference: “The mornings of the people.”

He highlighted that next year’s budget demonstrates that culture and education are a priority for his administration. In addition, resources are allocated for strategic projects such as the Mexico-Querétaro and Mexico-Pachuca passenger trains, as well as the Maya Train, since this railway system will also be cargo.

“The trains are coming to Querétaro, to Pachuca and, particularly, to Guadalajara, Irapuato, particularly, and to the north, towards Nuevo Laredo,” he added.

The Secretary of Finance and Public Credit, Rogelio Ramírez de la O, explained that the budget project is based on Mexican Humanism, which advocates the consolidation of development with shared benefits, all framed in the 100 commitments of the President of Mexico, so it has a medium and long term vision.

He explained that the budget project presented on November 15 in the Chamber of Deputies and Senators seeks a balance between income and spending in such a way that the budget deficit is reduced from 5.9 percent to 3.9 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). ), which drives the message that the country’s fiscal situation is being consolidated.

He specified that the draft expenditure budget contemplates a total amount of 9.3 billion pesos, which represents a nominal increase of 2.6 percent compared to the year 2024, equivalent to 235 billion pesos (mdp).

Likewise, he reported that the programmable expense is 6.5 billion pesos aimed at meeting the objectives and goals of the Government of Mexico, while the non-programmable expense is 2.7 billion, which is the debt service and the collection of taxes. federal entities.

He pointed out that the amount allocated to programmable spending is distributed among the priorities of the Government of Mexico as follows:

  • Health: 2.2 billion pesos
  • Social programs: 1.1 billion pesos
  • Investment projects: 996 thousand million pesos
  • Strategic projects: 276 billion pesos Education: 723 billion pesos
  • Security: 297 thousand million pesos
  • Support to the Field: 104 thousand million pesos

He specified that the distribution of the budget considers 836 thousand million pesos of investment in priority Welfare Programs: Pension for the Elderly, 483 thousand million pesos; Pension for People with Disabilities, 29 thousand million pesos; “Benito Juárez” Scholarship, 132 thousand million pesos; the new “Rita Cetina Gutiérrez” universal scholarship, 79 thousand million pesos; Young People Writing the Future, 12 billion pesos; the universal scholarship for Higher Secondary Education, 41 thousand million pesos; the School is Ours, 25 thousand million pesos; Young People Building the Future, 24 thousand million pesos.

As well as, Support Program for the Well-being of Girls and Boys, Children of Working Mothers, 3 billion pesos; Sowing Life, 39 thousand million pesos; Fertilizers for Wellbeing; 17 thousand 500 million pesos; Production for Wellbeing, 16 thousand million pesos; Guarantee Prices for the Agricultural sector, 12,500 million pesos; Bienpesca, 1,600 million pesos; Social Housing Program, 32 thousand million pesos.

And finally, Women’s Wellness Pension from 60 to 64 years old, 15 thousand million pesos; Health House by House, 2 thousand million pesos; as well as 3 thousand million pesos allocated to High Schools and Universities for Well-being. A total budget of 996 thousand million pesos has been assigned for the investment projects, which includes financial and physical investment. The latter has a budget of 811 thousand million pesos whose distribution will be:

  • Infrastructure for trains: 157 thousand million pesos
  • Highways and roads: 20 thousand million pesos
  • Water infrastructure: 20 billion pesos
  • Infrastructure in the health sector: 31,986 million pesos
  • Strengthening for security: 14 thousand 547 million pesos
  • Infrastructure and development in the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) and Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex): 273 thousand million pesos
  • Investment made by the federal entities: 276 thousand million pesos
  • Provision for Natural Disasters: 18,914 million pesos

“The budget is covering all the needs we have in the public sector, in the social sector, in the infrastructure sector; and it is also guaranteeing the payment of interest on the debt, the payment of the debt service, the payment of entities, contributions to federal participations to the federal entities, and the entire set of obligations that we have in the budget sector,” assured the head of the SHCP.

During the morning conference, the “Suave Patria” section was also presented, which on this occasion was dedicated to the work of the indigenous women of the Masehual Siuamej Women’s Collective, which protects and promotes their language, as well as the crafts of the communities of Cuetzalan , Puebla.
