* On the occasion of the inauguration, seeing the Chief Minister of our state holding the cricket bat and making shots, enthusiasm was visible among the other public representatives and players present in the field. Everyone greeted Chief Minister Shri Sai with applause. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao bowled on the field.
There was happiness among the players of Bilaspur after this gift given by the Chief Minister in the presence of players and public representatives amidst grand fireworks. After this gift, players will also get a chance to progress and create their identity along with the game. A fully equipped cricket ground of 14115 square meters has been prepared in the mini stadium. With a spectator capacity of 850, matches can be played during day and night in the mini stadium. Two separate buildings have been constructed in the ground, in one of which indoor games like snooker, billiards, table tennis, squash will be played, apart from this, a gym has been prepared with modern equipment. A training hall has been constructed in the second building which will be used for training the players. A separate VIP gallery, announcement box and pantry room have also been built in the same building. Apart from this, a hostel has been built in the stadium itself in which arrangements will be made to accommodate the players coming from outside, a two-lan tennis court has also been built. Along with beautification, complete arrangements for flood lighting have been made in the stadium being built by Smart City so that day night matches can be organized.
The need for a well-equipped cricket stadium in the city was being felt for a long time, where large-scale matches could be organised. Bilaspur, which is divided into two parts by the Arpa river, there was no other stadium in the city on this side of the river where there was facility and large scale events could be organised, for this the foundation of a mini stadium was laid. Apart from cricket, there is complete setup for various types of indoor games, so that players can get training and also play. With the opening of the mini stadium, not only Bilaspur but also the players of the entire region will benefit from it. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Arun Saw, MP Mr. Tokhan Sahu, MLA Mr. Amar Aggarwal, Mr. Dharamjit Singh, Mr. Dharamlal Kaushik, Divisional Commissioner Mr. Mahadev Kanvre, IG Mr. Sanjeev Shukla, Collector Mr. Avnish Sharan etc. were present.
