A national teacher for an aikido course

Fabrice Cast, black belt 6 e dan in charge of national teaching at the French Aikido Budo Federation, led an aikido course dedicated to children and adolescents during the day of Saturday and Sunday morning at the Amilly dojo.

Given at the initiative of J3 Sports Amilly aikido, this course brought together young practitioners from the region, and even beyond, including some locals. It was based on bare-handed work related to that of weapons with the handling of the ken (saber), and the jo, a 128 cm stick from Japanese spears. Sheathing work and learning about falls completed the menu of this course.

“In aikido there is a form of wisdom in relationships with others. Hence the search for conflict resolution without using pure force,” explains Frédéric Staub-Lepkowski, the technical manager of the J3.

The club’s classes and training take place at the Amilly dojo, under the aegis of the latter, Cédric Duprez and Olivier Lenormand (president of the section), all three teachers.

Mondays at 8:30 p.m., Wednesdays at 8 p.m., finally Saturday with the children from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., then after 4 p.m. for practitioners wishing to follow a revision program with a view to obtaining a new belt.

The J3 Sports Amilly aikido club has 33 licensees and will hold its general meeting on Wednesday, November 27, at 8 p.m., at the dojo.
