SENEGAL-AFRICA-BASKETBALL-RESULTS / Afrobasket 2025 Qualifiers: Senegal beats Gabon (101-58), for its second match – Senegalese press agency

Diamniadio, Nov 23 (APS) – The Senegal men’s national basketball team beat that of Gabon by a score of 101 points to 58, in a match counting for the second day of the Afrobasket 2025 qualifiers, Saturday, in Dakar Arena.

Senegal perfectly controlled their opponent this afternoon at the Dakar Arena, winning in fine style with a 43-point gap. The Lions of Senegal started to take off at halftime where they led by 46 points to 29.

El Hadji Brancou Badio’s teammates even had the luxury of reaching the symbolic bar of 100 points, without straining their talent.

Ngagne DeSagana Diop’s men confirmed their good form from the first day, during which they won by a score of 81 points to 58, against Rwanda on Friday.

The Lions of Senegal will complete this second qualifying window against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, tomorrow Sunday.

A third window is planned for February 2025 for the five groups.

Angola has been designated to host the 2025 edition of the men’s Afrobasket.

Senegal won the bronze medal at the 2021 men’s Afrobasket in Kigali. This edition was won by Tunisia at the expense of Ivory Coast.

Angola is the most successful nation in this competition with eleven trophies in total.
