Scott Turner, former NFL player, has been nominated by soon-to-be US President Donald Trump as Secretary of Housing. Turner has been an integral part of the Trump team since the previous Trump term.

Trump’s only black minister to date

During Trump’s first term, Turner led the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council, addressing the issue of affordable housing at the federal level. In an official statement, Trump praised his gymnast for outstanding work: “He led an unprecedented effort that transformed our country’s most vulnerable communities.” Trump’s only black minister to date is tasked with fighting homelessness.
