Tottenham already led Manchester City 2-0 in the 20th minute thanks to two goals from Maddison, who appropriately celebrated his 28th birthday today. Spurs’ third goal was added by defender Porro in the 52nd minute, and substitute Johnson sealed the final result in the setup. The Citizens gave Liverpool the chance to extend their lead at the top to eight points on Sunday. Tottenham are sixth.
Arsenal took the lead in the 15th minute, combining with captain Ödegaard to set up Saka, who scored his fourth league goal to equal the team’s top scorer Havertz. The home side had several chances to increase the lead before half-time, but keeper Sels kept Forest at bay with some good saves.
In the end, however, the Gunners overcame him again, Partey stepped up in the 52nd minute and substitute Nwaneri sealed the win four minutes before the end. At the age of 17 years and 273 days, the England youth international became the second youngest goalscorer in Arsenal’s history after Cesc Fábregas (17 years and 113 days). Nottingham lost their second game in a row and dropped to sixth place.
In the 15th minute, striker Chelsea Jackson took advantage of the lack of emphasis on the home team’s defense and opened the scoring with a quick finish. The Senegalese international scored his seventh league goal and equaled the team’s top scorer, Palmer.
He could once again become the leader of the club’s scoring table in the 54th minute, but his shot towards the open goal was unintentionally blocked by teammate Madueke.
The visitors were able to increase their lead, however, when captain Fernández scored with a header in the 75th minute. The home “Foxes” still reduced in the set-up, but Ayew’s shot from the penalty came too late for a turnaround. Leicester have not won for the fourth time in a row and are sixteenth in the table.
