MANILA, Philippines – In a preview of their ladder knockout match, Adamson edged Ateneo, 58-52, to end the UAAP Season 87 women’s basketball knockout round on a high note Saturday at the FilOil EcoOil Heart in the city of San Juan.

Elaine Etang and Cris Padilla teamed up to build a 15-point lead at the start of the quarter, 54-39. However, the Blue Eagles unleashed a 10-0 run to reduce the deficit to 54-49 with 1:48 left.

MANILA, Philippines – National University has made its way to the UAAP Season 87 women’s basketball finals, inching closer to completing its bid to redeem the title.

Determined to return to the top after their seven-year reign ended last year, the Woman Bulldogs put together a perfect 14-game knockout round campaign with another masterful victory over fellow-ruled Far Japanese College, 86-58, the Saturday morning. at the Filoil EcoOil Center in the city of San Juan.

Adamson battles Ateneo late in the knockout round of the UAAP men’s basketball tournament, and the Falcons know that nothing less than a victory at FilOil EcoOil Heart would allow them to live another day in the 87th season.

A playoff for the final spot in the Last 4 is on the line for the Falcons in the 5:30 p.m. game, and while Ateneo will be playing for virtually nothing more than ending a forgettable season with a win, the Blue Eagles are not only going to turn around and die.
