how the Crèvecœur-le-Grand Tennis Club gets volunteers to the net

Now that the Tennis Club of Crèvecœur-le-Grand (TCC) has doubled its number of licensees in two years, it wishes to develop the club spirit by retaining the loyalty of its volunteers.

The Crèvecœur-le-Grand Tennis Club (TCC) on all courts. In the space of two years, the TCC has doubled its number of members, reaching 142 members in 2024, the majority of whom are children. Among them, 52 took their very first tennis license there.

Enough to allow it to also double its number of teams entered in the different championships. There were fifteen of them last year, for no descents and three climbs.

The objective is to train our competitors so that they can then represent the club. Then we would also like to train our own referees.”

indicated the president of the TCC Sébastien Gauthier

More women and children at the tennis club

It must be said that baby tennis (3-6 years old) on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, the activities with the primary school as well as the holiday and mothers’ courses worked well. Women’s tennis is growing, so much so that the club has more and more women and slightly fewer men than last season.

We really want to highlight women’s tennis. So when we create lesson schedules, we first think about the comfort of our players by offering them the most suitable schedules..”

assures Sébastien Gauthier

An impressive number of graduates which forced managers to rack their brains to create a course calendar full to the brim.

The TCC will also continue its Tennis Santé sessions (on doctor’s prescription) under the name Sport Santé, its former instructor Thomas Lecoutre, the only one authorized for Tennis Santé, having left.

It is for this aspect that Crédit Agricole presented a check for €2,283 to the club during its general meeting as part of the I love my territory program.

Create a real club spirit

Now that it has its fill of licensees, the TCC wants to retain them and develop the club spirit. This involves, for example, the distribution of sets of jerseys. The club is looking for sponsors in this regard.

Always with this in mind, the Tennis Club is ready to reward volunteers aged 14 to 20 who give their time.

This can be by offering them equipment, registrations and food in tournaments, by financing their driving license (this happened for a young person who had done 80 hours of volunteering and saw his license financed by the Department) , or by offering them the outings that we organize.”

explains Sébastien Gauthier

Because after a successful first outing at the Rolex Paris Masters on All Saints’ Day, the club wants to offer more. A great idea when we know that many sports clubs and associations struggle to find volunteers.

This year, the TCC would also like to take part in the From the Court to the Courts program, and train teachers in tennis before lending them equipment to introduce schoolchildren.

But also develop theme evenings, improve the clubhouse or even organize your first lottery.

A ton of projects therefore, to which is added the future construction of the new indoor court. The demolition of the old building, whose roof is leaking, should take place at the beginning of 2025. The City is waiting to receive all the funding to launch the project.
