MadridFor a few years he was associated with Real Madrid as a lawyer for Cristiano Ronaldo, the team’s former star player, and for former coach José Mourinho. Penalist José Antonio Choclán was in charge of managing the problems that both had with the Spanish Treasury. Now, with its new client, Choclán leaves the first football division, but remains in the media. Víctor de Aldama, former president of the modest Zamora CF and one of the protagonists of this week’s front pages for the accusations against Pedro Sánchez and leaders of the PSOE, has chosen him to defend him. For the time being, with the strategy of testifying voluntarily before the judge of the National Court investigating the commissioner of the Koldo plot, Choclán has managed to get his client out of Soto del Real, where he was in provisional prison.

Beyond the aforementioned Madridistas, among Choclán’s clients there are more well-known faces, in this case related to the corruption of the PP. The lawyer defended Cristina Cifuentes, former president of Madrid who was acquitted in the Master case, and Francisco Correa, the mastermind of the Gürtel plot. Choclán was one of the lawyers who, in the context of this case, succeeded in removing Baltasar Garzón from the judiciary for listening to the accused. The list of customers vip it doesn’t end there: Rita Barberá, ex-president of Valencia; Corinna Larsen, a former student of Juan Carlos I, or Jordi Pujol, former president of the Generalitat, have also put their hands on it.
Legal sources consulted by the ARA, who have agreed with him in several procedures, explain that it is clear that Choclán knows the National Court “with all the yous and uts”. The lawyer is precisely a magistrate on leave, since 2004, of the criminal court. One of the doubts hanging over Aldama’s statement is whether it was agreed with the Prosecutor’s Office, which seconded Choclán’s request for freedom due to the “collaboration” of Aldama, who incriminated himself. It is precisely what Ronaldo and Mourinho did to reduce their sentence advised by the same lawyer, considered one of the most prestigious and highly regarded in his field and whom the Spanish president is now putting in the spotlight, accusing him of orchestrating a strategy defense based on the “lie”.
