Sinner brings Italy back to the Davis Cup final

Sinner brings Italy back to the Davis Cup final

As in the previous year, the Italian national tennis team with Jannik Sinner reached the final of the Davis Cup in Malaga. In the semi-final against Australia, Jannik Sinner won for the defending champions against Alex de Minaur 6:3, 6:4.

Sinner’s teammate Matteo Berrettini won his singles against Thanasi Kokkinakis in three hard-fought sets.

After Sinner’s 2-0 win, the double against Australia is no longer necessary.

In the final against the Netherlands

Now the “Azzurri” will face the Netherlands on Sunday from 4 p.m. in the fight for the Davis Cup trophy, the “ugliest salad bowl in the world”.

Jannik Sinner will then play the second singles again and, if necessary, also the doubles.

The final will be shown again via live stream on our homepage.

Another important win against de Minaur

A year ago, Jannik Sinner played against Alex de Minaur in Malaga and won. At that time, Sinner’s victory was crucial for Italy’s Davis Cup triumph.

Sinner has now played against de Minaur nine times – and won all nine games.
