Mira Sorvino’s son Johnny finally got the chance to see his grandfather’s iconic performance for the first time Paul Sorvinothe one in Martin Scorsese’s cinema classic, Goodfellas, as the actress and her husband confessed.
Sorvino e Christopher Backusbusy promoting their latest film project Daft State, told this anecdote about one of their four children and the film released in theaters in 1990.

“He plays baseball at Michigan, so now he’s old enough to watch Goodfellas.” Backus said “One of his teammates was going to watch it, so he went to his house and watched it with him. And he said he couldn’t believe that was his grandfather.”.
Passed away in 2022 at the age of 83, Paul Sorvino, father of Mira Sorvino, played the mafioso Paul ‘Paulie’ Cicero in Martin Scorsese’s 1990 classic, alongside Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Ray Liotta.

Christopher Backus and Mira Sorvino have three other children together, Mattea, 20, Holden, 15, and Lucia, 12. The Mindhunter actor said that Goodfellas is not the first film that his son has seen with the grandfather Paul in the cast.
“One that we often watched together, even though we haven’t seen him for a few years and I don’t think I’ve watched him since he died, is Santa Baby, in which he played Santa Claus, my children loved him. They love that film and we love watching grandpa as Santa Claus”.
