Bogliasco 1951 hits the mark. Heavy victory in Ancona

The girls of AGN Energia Bogliasco 1951 made no mistake as, in the sixth round of Serie A1, they conquered the Vela Nuoto pool, winning 14-11.

A victory that was never in question for the white and blue team, the result of a flying start that prematurely put the contest downhill. Immediately ahead with Spampinato and momentarily joined by the Dorics, the Ligurians soon pulled ahead, reaching 5-3 at the end of the first quarter thanks to subsequent centers by Rosta (a brace), Bianco and Rogondino (in the attached photo, by Giorgio Scarfì).

Ancona attempted to return in the second half but was sent even further away by goals from Spampinato, Bozzo, Bo and Van Dyke, with the latter netting her absolute debut in Italy. Despite the fact that the 9-5 score in the middle of the match almost seemed like an early ruling in favor of the guests, the Bogliaschines left no room for relaxation, continuing to press hard on the accelerator. Three more goals thus arrived in the third half, again with Bianco, Bozzo and Rogondino, and the gap widened to plus 5. Only in the last 8 minutes did Bogliasco allow itself the luxury of taking a breather, allowing Ancona to overcome the deficit despite the third personal ring put on the scoresheet by both Bozzo and Bianco.

“Today was a very important match – comments coach Sinatra at the end of the match – not decisive, given that the championship is still very long, but still relevant for our future. We wanted to win it and we succeeded, also showing good things. Only in defense were we a little too confusing, not always doing what we were supposed to also due to an opponent who was able to put us in difficulty. We must work on these aspects, knowing that we have great margins for growth. In addition to the victory, I am also happy for the debut of Adrien (Van Dyke. ed.) who, despite having only been with us for a week, played a good game in a difficult match in many respects. Now let’s move on and focus on next Saturday’s match against Cosenza, another crucial match for our season.”
