On the last weekend in November, the BJV once again invited people to the Dan preparation course
to Strausberg. And as in recent years, many judoka are once again making intensive use of the opportunity to prepare for the examination for a master’s degree.
Martin Reißmann was once again responsible for organizing the course. In coordination with the head of the Graduation Working Group, Rene Keil, all subject areas were again well secured with speakers so that every participant was able to gain enough input. This year the challenges were particularly great, as there were some who are in the final phase of their exam preparation and still want to take their new degree according to the old Dan exam regulations, while others are preparing according to the new exam regulations.
There were interested parties for the 1st to 3rd Dan. The elective self-defense also had to be covered. Not easy for those responsible, but in the end this challenge was solved well.
The course started again with a teaching unit. Then it went to the mat. Michael Zapf led the warm-up with Taiso and until lunchtime we went through the areas of kata, floor and throwing technique. For the examinees of the new examination regulations it was about the Gokyo. Of course, individual questions could always be asked and clarified.
In the afternoon, other topics such as application tasks and elective subjects were on the agenda. As always, there were also those responsible for graduation who used the course to extend their license. Rene Keil and Martin Reißmann provided information about the current status of the work of the Graduate Studies Working Group.
