Gold in Thessalonica for Capezzuto and Frosoni! Second Schiavon

What a great day, the second of Thessaloniki Cadet European Cupfor the Italian cadets who wore two gold and one silver medals around their necks. On the top step of the Greek podium went Martina Capezzuto in the 57 kg, Giorgia Frosoni in the 63 kg and Carlotta Schiavon deserved a good second place in the +70 kg.

Martina Capezzuto won four matches against Jasikovac (Bih), Pkhakadze (Geo), Skomersic (Cro), Gamiashvili (Geo).

“Today I conclude my European cup cadet journey with a gold medal. -he said Martina Capezzuto– In this path I had the pleasure of participating in the Eyof, European and World Championships 2023 and 2024. I would like to point out that I won the first gold medal in the cadet path in Naples in February 2023, my father was hospitalized . Today my father was there to guide me… I conclude this European cadet journey with a double joy, the guidance of my technical father and the splendid GOLD Medal. I also thank the Nippon Napoli Federal Technical Center for their hospitality in following my preparation. I wish everyone in the FIJLKAM family a peaceful and happy 2025.”

Giorgia Frosoni won five matches, in order over Dourou (Gre), Grambo (Nor), Natelauri (Geo), Dalmasso (Fra) and Thomson (Can).

“I looked so hard for this medal at the European Cup – is the comment of Giorgia Frosoni– and it came with even more value because in the new category I’m experimenting with different solutions, I’m trying to adapt and grow. This medal was a nice surprise and, at the same time, a great confirmation of the work I do every day. Now forward with even more motivation to continue improving!”

Two victories promoted Carlotta Schiavon to the +70 kg final, obtained over Kapianidze (Geo) and Kajtazovic (Bih).

“The first match against the Georgian was a bit challenging and I panicked, but then I overcame it with a wazari. -he commented Carlotta Schiavon-The second with the Bosnian passed easily with two wazari and the final with the Russian I took a lever. I would have really liked to get the gold medal but I am still very happy with this result. I thank Mattia Ferro who followed me and my teachers who follow me from home. Thanks also to my teammates who support me and to my parents who allow me to do what I like.”
