The November window excitement in the FIBA 2025 EuroBasket Qualifiers continues at full speed with eight matches to be played tonight (Monday, November 25). In the fourth match of Group B of the qualifiers, our Turkish A National Basketball Team will host Hungary.
The match will start at 20:00 and will be broadcast on TRT Spor Yıldız.
Türkiye is in 2nd place in the group with 2 wins and 1 loss after 3 matches. Hungary lost all 3 matches in the group and took the last place.
If the National Men’s Basketball Team wins this match, it will be guaranteed to be in the top 3 in the group and will be guaranteed to participate in the 2025 European Basketball Championship with two matches left.
In the other match of the group, leader Italy will face Iceland at home.
If the team, under the management of head coach Ergin Ataman, beats its opponent, it will participate in the 42nd European Basketball Championship to be held in the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus, Finland, Latvia and Poland between 27 August and 14 September.
While 12 Giant Men defeated Hungary with a score of 92-66 in Istanbul, Şehmus Hazer played with 25 points – 4 rebounds – 4 assists, Cedi Osman played with 21 points – 4 rebounds, and Ercan Osmani played with 17 points – 4 rebounds.
The National Team will play its 78th match under the management of head coach Ergin Ataman.
The crescent-star team has played 77 matches so far under the management of the experienced head coach. The national team left these matches with 38 wins and 39 losses.
The crescent-star team has previously faced Hungary in 16 competitions, 10 of which were official.
While the National Basketball Team won 11 of these matches, it was defeated by its opponent in 5 of them.
While the national team scored 1190 points in total in the matches against Hungary, they scored 1158 points in the basket.
The National Basketball Team met Hungary for the first time in 1955. In the match played in the European Championship, the star and crescent team was defeated by its opponent 66-55.
The crescent-star team achieved its biggest victory against Hungary this year.
The national team defeated its opponent, which it hosted in Istanbul on November 22, in the European Championship qualifiers, by 26 points, 92-66.
Hungary achieved its biggest victory against Turkey with a score of 80-69 in the FIBA Tournament it hosted in 1983.
