  • Team Bogotá continues to rule the Paralympic sector; In the Olympic branch, few medals and positions are maintained, Bogotá remains in second place.

Bogotá, November 24, 2024.- A lot of calm due to the absence of medals in large numbers, and some slight changes in the medal tables, left day 16 of the I Eje Cafetero 2024 National Youth Games.

In the Paralympic sector, there was no movement in the medal table, so things remained the same; That is to say, the 5 gold advantage over Antioquia and the 8 over Valle were maintained. Thus, Bogotá is the leader with 98 medals, of which 36 are gold, 31 silver and 31 bronze; Antioquia follows with 76 (31-21-24), and then Valle with 70 (28-24-18), Santander with 56 (20-22-14) and Cundinamarca with 45 (18-17-10).

Regarding the Olympic sector, only slight changes due to a few medals that were awarded, although the positions were maintained; The only thing is that Valle was one gold medal away from Bogotá. That is, Antioquia leads with 260 medals (96 gold, 88 silver and 76 bronze), followed by Bogotá with 220 (77-59.84), Valle with 230 (76-85-64), Atlántico with 55 (17-15-23 ) and Boyacá with 45 (16-14-15).

A small number of medals moved the medal table slightly on the day. Bogotá won two silver medals and 1 bronze medal in judo, which was the only discipline it awarded.

In men’s -67 kgs, Emanuel Rodríguez won the silver after losing in the final to Keiner Sánchez from Santander; In the women’s 53 kg, Yiris Ortiz was also second, losing the final to Wendy Golu from Valle del Cauca. While Sara Vargas won bronze in the women’s 57 kg.

The rest were results recorded in competitions from previous phases. For example, in soccer PC lost 4-0 against Córdoba; In boccia, 4 games were won and 2 lost, in badminton there were 3 wins and 7 losses. And in badminton 4 wins and one loss.

This Monday only judo will award medals in the Olympic sector, while boccia will do so in the Paralympics.
