On the occasion of the 2024 Telethon, the City of Montivilliers, the Municipal Sports Office and sports and cultural associations are mobilizing to offer a program rich in activities, demonstrations, initiations, sale of objects and other workshops. From November 26 to December 8, numerous events are organized to bring together the Montivillons around a noble cause: supporting medical research and supporting families affected by rare diseases.
The festivities will begin on November 26, with a Baby Judo tournament at 5:30 p.m. followed by a demonstration and an Aikido initiation from 7:15 p.m. at the Igor Correa dojo. Visitors will also be able to participate in a raffle and enjoy a sake tasting. The judo tournaments and demonstrations will continue from November 27 to 30, from 8:45 a.m. to 7 p.m., in the same dojo, with a sake tasting offered at the Martial Arts School on November 29 at 6:30 p.m.
On November 29, the ACM-VTT welcomes bike enthusiasts for “La Nuit des Hi-Boues”, a nighttime outing departing from the station car park at 8 p.m. The next day, November 30, a 7 km walk organized by the ACTM (Association Cyclo-Touriste de Montivilliers) will leave the town hall at 1:45 p.m., while the VP Forme association will offer gym classes for 5 euros. On December 6, the Montivilliers Handball Club (MHB) will organize a tournament at the Christian Gand gymnasium from 5 p.m.
The high point of the mobilization will take place on the weekend of December 7 and 8, with a variety of activities:
- Place des Hallettes: the Amicale des Sapeurs-Pompiers will welcome children on its unmissable Little Firefighter course and the bikers from the Custom Club will offer motorcycle introductions.
- Gymnase Christian Ghent: the Montivilliers Escrime association will offer discovery sessions, Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Ferme Rébultot: the Amicale Canine will host education classes and activities for dog lovers every morning.
- Finally, on Sunday December 8, the Poona Montivilliers Badminton Club will organize a tournament at the Jean Prévost gymnasium from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Beyond this period of mobilization, Montivillon associations are involved throughout the year to support the Telethon. For example, the GMT (Groupe Montivillon de Tennis) will organize a tennis tournament on January 11, 2025.
People wishing to contribute to this surge of solidarity can make a donation by calling 3637 or via the Telethon website. All donations will be donated to the AFM Téléthon to finance research and improve the daily lives of the families concerned.
