Pisa, 24 November 2024 – Nothing to be done, for the Pisa Women’s Basketballon the sixth day of the championship C seriesovertaken in the field and in the standings by Baloncesto Florencea far from unbeatable team, at the end of a home match that the red and whites never played with their heads, testifying to a moment of crisis from which Stefano Zari’s girls absolutely must emerge as soon as possible. The score, already critical at the break, became prohibitive in the second half for the Pisans, who obviously have no chance against any opponent, when they only score 40 points.
THE NEWS – The start was immediately uphill for the red and whites, scoring in the first quarter with 5 points from Selmi, but unable to exceed 11 at the end of the period, won by the guests for 11-15. It doesn’t get any better in the second period, despite the triples from Mercolini and Filippini, to which Baloncesto responds with a partial of 12-22 which effectively closes the game at the break (23-37). In the second half, two baskets from Garruto deceived the Women’s Basketball, which did not go beyond 6-9 in the third set, concluding it on 29-46. In the decisive quarter things didn’t go any better for the red and whites, who found two triples from Mercolini and Turco, without however being able to change the course and outcome of the match.
NEXT MATCH – In an extremely level championship, in which the values between the first and last teams are not so distant, the Pisa Women’s Basketball team plays on Sunday at Capannori, on the pitch of the newly promoted Farmacia Biagi, which currently has two points more than the red and whites. This is a match within the reach of Benedettini and his teammates, as long as it is approached with a different mental approach, with greater clarity in shooting, avoiding the sensational errors of the last few days.
