It will be a December of answers what awaits Varese Basketball: whether they are positive or negative. In fact, in the next month, the red and whites will discover they really want/can/can be in this season.
The calendar, in fact, presents the Openjobmetis a series of challenges that will tell us what Bosino’s path will be in the championship: we start on December 1st at home against Veneziaa team on paper but which in this first part of the season has been decimated by many serious injuries that have undermined its progress, as the only 6 points in the standings demonstrate. An opportunity, therefore, to try and exploit for Varese who, after the scalp of Virtus Bologna, can try to win two more very important points of salvation against the lagoon players, focusing on the entry into the team of Sykes e tyus (both will be presented tomorrow, Tuesday 26 November, to the press).
After Venice, then, there is the clash of salvation against Cremona l’December 8 away from home: a match, needless to say, not to be missed for coach Mandole’s boys who, after having failed in the direct clash with Scafati, cannot afford any more missteps, also to begin to give a gap from the last two positions in the rankings. Last year it took a great performance from the Mannion-Hanlan duo to win the PalaRadi field, while this year a lot is in the hands of Sykes but also of Hands.
The following week, December 15th, it will be time for the derby againstOlimpia Milan which this year is limping more than usual: a highly anticipated match in Varese especially for the return to Masnago of Nico Mannionwith Varese able to demonstrate to itself and its fans that it knows how to be much more than a simple “widow” of the Red Mamba, trying to snatch the two points.
However, above all, there will be challenges with Reggio Emilia on 22 December away from home and that home match on 28 December against Napoli to define the red and white path: in Emilia Varese they will have to try to redeem the very heavy debacle of last season, against a very fearsome team that is already in the playoff zone; while at the Itelyum Arena against Napoli the red and whites cannot afford to fail a match that could mean a first real set point against one of their direct opponents to remain in the LBA, today last with zero points, thus giving a peaceful New Year to all their fans.
A month, 5 games, a large part of the Varese Basketball team’s destiny passes through here, to understand whether it will be another season of suffering until the end, or a leap forward towards peaceful salvation and higher ambitions.
