The red-haired judoka participated in the Junior U21 that was held in Montreal and added 32 points that allow him to remain seventh among the eight that qualify for the 2025 Youth Pan American Games.
Alem Yuma exceeded expectations in Canada. From November 13 to 15, he competed in the Open panamericano Junior U21which took place in Montreal and is a qualifier for the 2025 Pan American Youth Games. 18 countries and 168 judokas participated.
Yuma (U18) competed in the -81 kilos category and passed 5 rounds.
At the beginning of the Repechage for 3rd place, he defeated local Joackim Houle by ippon. In the 4th Finals, he defeated Ethan Deeg, also from Canada, by ippon. In the Semifinal, he fell to the Puerto Rican Francisco Galarza Hernández in a match with parity where at times he was able to impose his actions.
In summary, he placed seventh in the contest among the 23 top-level representatives between America and Europe. This gave it 32 points for the Pan American Ranking, leaving it in 7th place by country, where 8 qualify for the aforementioned Games..
