On Saturday, the third team from TV Dillingen competed in the district league against TV Memmingen and SG Trunkelsberg/Babenhausen. After two exciting encounters, TV Dillingen was able to take two important points and thus continues to maintain fourth place in the table.
Close duel against TV Memmingen
The first game of the day against TV Memmingen was hard fought, but ended in a narrow 3:5 defeat for Dillinger. The doubles presented a challenge: all three games went to the guests from Memmingen. But in the individual matches, the Dillingers showed fighting spirit. Simon Vaclahovsky and Paolo Rosato confidently won two points in their singles.
The third men’s singles was particularly exciting, in which Markus Steinle narrowly lost in the deciding set after an intense match. The women’s singles was also open until the end, but Ina Augustin had to admit defeat after three sets. In the mixed doubles, Ina Augustin and Martin Schweikhardt earned the third point for Dillingen, but were unable to avert defeat.
Victory against SG Trunkelsberg/Babenhausen
In the second game of the day, TV Dillingen showed a strong team performance and defeated SG Trunkelsberg/Babenhausen 5:3. Simon Vaclahovsky and Markus Steinle opened the success by winning the first men’s doubles in two sets.
In the singles, TV Dillingen was unstoppable: Simon Vaclahovsky, Paolo Rosato and Ina Augustin each won their games in a convincing manner. The decisive moment came in the third men’s singles, when Markus Steinle held his nerve this time and won the third set. With this important victory, TV Dillingen secured fourth place in the table and remains on course to further establish itself in the top half of the table.
