Casa Nacional Judo Club conquers II Invitational Cup

HOLY SUNDAY. With a total of 57 medals, the Judo Club Casa Nacional won first place in the Judo Invitational Cup that took place on Saturday in the Judo Pavilion of the Olympic Center.

The athletes of the Judo Club Casa Nacional obtained 17 gold medals, the same number of silver and 23 bronze, to retain the great Champions Cup won last year.

“This result is an example of the teamwork that we have been doing with our athletes since the minor categories,” said Wilkin Ogando, president of the Judo Club Casa Nacional.

The Judo Association of San Pedro de Macorís took second place with 10 medals, including eight gold and two bronze, while the representation of the Duarte province won the third place cup, with nine medals (five gold, three silver and one bronze).

In fourth position was the delegation from Monte Plata (Bayaguana), with five gold, two silver and three bronze medals, while Barahona achieved fifth place with five gold, two silver and one bronze medals.

The Villa Francisca Judo Club, with three gold medals, two silver medals and two bronze medals, was awarded sixth place, and Judo Naco was seventh, with two gold medals, five silver medals and three silver medals.

In the II Invitational Judo Cup, organized by Judo Club Casa Nacional, 201 athletes from a total of 10 associations of that discipline participated, as well as six clubs from the National District.

The contest had the support of Alacta Plus, Senase, Grupo Puntacana, Ángel J. Serrulle, Lakasa Roof, Distribuidora Calderón Molina, Barjan Stefan, Comedores Economíaas, Café Tejamani, Don Bizcocho, Vende Más Recarga, Fundación Leidi Germán and Baccesory.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Gilberto García, president of the Dominican Judo Federation (Fedojudo), spoke, highlighting the organization of the event and the support offered by the entity he directs as a way of contributing to the massification of the event. judo.

“We are working together to make the objectives we set possible,” García added.

Willington Peña, vice president of the National District Judo Association (Asojudina), and Nisa María Roa, from Senase, also participated in the meeting.

Also part of the authorities were Eddy García and Domingo Asencio, presidents of the judo associations of San Juan de la Maguana and San Cristóbal, respectively, as well as Víctor Calderón, president of Distribuidora Calderón Molina; Luisa Martínez, general secretary of Fedojudo; Edgar García, president of the Parents Association of the Casa Nacional Club, and sensei Juan Chalas, among others.
