Landshut – 1. BC Straubing attracted attention this weekend with two convincing victories in the district league.
In the first game against the host Post SV Landshut IV, the first team from 1. BC Straubing dominated from the start. All three doubles clearly went to the guests from Straubing. Things got particularly exciting in the second round of the game: four matches were only decided in the third set. The Straubing players showed strong nerves and were able to win three of the four decisive sets. Although the final score looks clear at 7-1, overall the game was very close.
The second game against TV Zwiesel started less promisingly. After the doubles, 1. BC Straubing was behind 1:2. But two of the three men’s singles were clearly won. A special highlight was the game of Sofia Rozenberg, who won her singles with 22:20, 17:21 and 21:19. Before the last game, the mixed doubles, the score was 4:3 for Straubing. In a nerve-racking match, Christian Thissen and Sofia Rozenberg managed to get the decisive point in three sets (19:21, 21:15, 21:17) for a 5:3 victory.
With these two wins, 1. BC Straubing climbed to third place in the district league.
