With enthusiasm and a clear goal in mind, 103 students from Córdoba participate in the National Final Phase of the 2024 Intercollegiate Gamescarried out in Bogotá, Pereira, Manizales and Bucaramanga. This sporting event brings together the best student talents in the country and it is a unique opportunity to highlight the sporting potential of the department.
First harvest of medals for Córdoba
The young athletes from Cordoba have already begun to leave their mark in competitions. Among the most notable achievements:
- Gold medal: Isabella Buelvas, a student at La Salle de Montería school, dominated the test of the Women’s Youth 100 Meter Dashreaffirming his position as one of the promises of national athletics.
- bronze medal: Stiven Hernández, from the Enrique Olaya Herrera Educational Institution of San Bernardo del Viento, obtained third place in judo, category -40 kgduring the competitions in Bogotá.
- silver medal: Lilibeth Zúñiga, from the Julio C. Miranda Educational Institution of San Antero, stood out in long jumptaking second position.
- Gold medal: Andrés Ignacio Valdez Otálvaro shone in discus throwclimbing to first place on the podium and adding another gold medal for Córdoba.
Córdoba competes in 12 disciplines
The Córdoba delegation is represented in a wide range of sports: athletics, judo, triathlon, volleyball, integrated chess, para-athletics, basketball, skating, swimming, handball, para-swimming and table tennis.
The group, made up of 103 studentshas the support of 21 coaches y 5 officerswho guarantee the technical and motivational support necessary for young athletes to achieve their maximum performance.
This outstanding performance is the result of the strategic support of Indeportes Córdobawho has worked to strengthen youth sports talent in the department. In addition to raising the name of Córdoba, this participation promotes the comprehensive development of students and projects their talent to the national and international level.

The finals of the 2024 Intercollegiate Games continue until November 30. Cordoban athletes face the best in Colombia, carrying with them the support and pride of their land. With each victory, they reaffirm that student sports in Córdoba is on the rise.
