At the closing ceremony of the 46th All India Electricity Lawn Tennis Tournament, Dr. Rohit Yadav, President of Chhattisgarh State Power Companies, said that it is very pleasant that sports activities activities are given attention in State Electricity Companies, Boards and Corporations. Due to which the talents here are contributing at the national level and have also been successful in making a place in the Indian team. He said that it is a matter of pride that we not only generate electricity for the country but also produce sportspersons and not only supply electricity but also supply sportspersons for the country.
Chief guest of the closing ceremony of the competition, Dr. Rohit Yadav said that sports has great importance in our lives. Usually, after joining the job, one misses playing but it is commendable that all you players have still kept your childhood dream alive. While on one hand sports keeps the body healthy, on the other hand it also relieves work stress. This experience of sports will not be found in any book or any school. This inspires the employees of the power company to work with unity.
On this occasion, SK Katiyar, Managing Director of Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company, Rajesh Kumar Shukla, Managing Director of Transmission Company were present as special guests. General Secretary of Central Sports and Arts Council M.S. Chauhan gave the welcome speech.
Kerala players dominated the lawn tennis competition that lasted for three days. Kerala State Electricity Board was the winner in the team event. Uttar Pradesh got the title of runner-up. The team of Chhattisgarh State Power Companies stood third. In open singles, Suraj H of Kerala stood first, Shri Y.A. of Assam stood second. Ahmed and Rajneesh Oberoi of Chhattisgarh stood third.
Similarly, in open doubles, Mr. Suraj H and Gautam Krishna of Kerala were the winners. Andhra Pradesh Manesh and K. Murthy stood second and Binu M and Shri Binoj M of Kerala stood third. The inauguration ceremony was conducted by Additional General Manager (Public Relations) Umesh Kumar Mishra. Teams of power companies from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Kolkata, Telangana including Chhattisgarh participated in this competition.
