Michigan State basketball took care of business in Monday’s Maui Invitational first-round game against Colorado.
The Spartans were the better team for most of the night, earning a _-_ victory over the Buffalos to advance to the semifinals of this iconic tournament. Michigan State will face Memphis on Tuesday in the semifinals.
The first half was back-and-forth for most of the game, but Michigan State was able to take a double-digit lead at the break thanks to a strong finish. The Spartans finished the half on a 17-4 run, giving them a 38-25 halftime lead.
Colorado made a few shots right out of the break, but never got the game closer than seven points in the second half. Michigan State led by as many as 20 points in the second half.
