In the 4th match of Group B of the 2025 European Championship Qualifiers, Hungary, managed by Gasper Okorn, and our National Men’s Basketball Team, coached by Ergin Ataman, faced each other.
Our national team won the match played at Savaria Arena with a score of 81-76.
NATIONALS GUARANTEED THE EUROPEAN BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
With this result, the national team, which guaranteed to be in the top 3 places in the group, gained the right to participate in the 42nd European Basketball Championship, which will be held in the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus, Finland, Latvia and Poland between 27 August and 14 September 2025.
NATIONAL TEAM FINISHED THE FIRST HALF AHEAD
The national team started the match quickly with Cedi Osman’s 8 consecutive points and closed the first quarter ahead 21-14.
The guest team started the second quarter more effectively. However, the Star and Crescent team stepped up in the last part of the quarter and went to the locker room with a 40-31 advantage.
NATIONALS WINNED BY 5 POINTS
Showing a better performance in the third period, the home team reduced the difference to 14 points and went into the last quarter with a 54-54 draw.
Ergin Ataman’s students regained the upper hand in the last quarter and won 81-76 on the court.
