As the competitions progress in the national final of the 2024 Intercollegiate Games, Antioquia took the lead. With 35 gold medals, 30 silver and 11 bronze, the department leads the general medal table, accumulating a total of 76 medals at the close of the sixth day of competitions.
The day of Monday, November 25, was key for this outstanding position, thanks to the talent of the Antioqueños. In athletics, Antioquia won 23 gold medals, while swimming contributed nine golds, judo two, and skating one.
Among the great protagonists of the games for Antioquia, Guadalupe Gutiérrez Londoño shone in the pool, winning four gold medals, one silver and one bronze. At her side, swimmers María Alejandra Agudelo Rendón (three gold and three silver), Isabella Londoño Mejía (three gold, two silver and one bronze) and Diana Camila Mesa Tobón (three gold and two silver) left winning strokes for the department.

The national final of the 2024 Intercollegiate Games brings together promising sports students from the 32 departments of Colombia and Bogotá, competing in 36 conventional and non-conventional disciplines, in the pre-youth and youth categories. This multi-sports meeting takes place in two phases: the first, from November 20 to 30, with venues in Bogotá, Manizales, Santa Rosa de Cabal and Bucaramanga; and the second, which will take place from December 6 to 15, 2024.
Antioquia not only leads the medal table, but is also positioned as an example of constant work for youth sports development. With performances of this magnitude, the department sends a clear message: the future of Colombian sports has a powerful cradle in a land of champions.
